Many years ago, while wandering the streets of Bali — back when there were true antique stores on the island — I found an extraordinary hand-carved panel depicting a graceful Dutch plantation house from the 1920s, during Bali’s colonial era. Its beautiful architecture and intricate floral carving caught my attention. I knew I had something special: not simply a work of art, but a piece of history. I purchased the original antique and later asked a favorite Balinese master carver to recreate it exactly as it was, honoring every detail and every line. The reproduction captured the spirit and beauty of the original so well that it became one of the most meaningful pieces of our Island Collection.
